JPSC Civil Services Age Limit

The age limit for the Jharkhand Civil Services Examination 2024 is:

Minimum: 21 years as on August 1, 2024

Maximum: Varies depending on your category:

  • General/OBC/EWS/EBC (Schedule I)/BC (Schedule II): 35 years
  • UR/EBC/BC (only Female) of only Jharkhand: 38 years
  • SC/ST (Male/Female) of only Jharkhand: 40 years
  • All Category Candidates (Male/Female) of Other States: 35 years


  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years relaxation in their respective category age limit.
  • Ex-Servicemen (EXSM): 5 years relaxation in their respective category age limit.
  • Candidates who have rendered minimum 3 years of regular service under the Government of Jharkhand: 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.

Eligibility Criteria of JPSC Civil Service:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • The age limit for general category candidates is 21 to 35 years. There is relaxation in age limit for other categories.

Selection Process of JPSC Civil Service:

The selection process for the Jharkhand Civil Services Examination consists of three stages:

  • Preliminary Examination: This is an objective type exam to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination.
  • Main Examination: This is a written exam consisting of essay, general studies, and optional subjects papers.
  • Interview: This is the final stage of the selection process, where shortlisted candidates are interviewed by a board of experts.
